Description
Glacier White
White Jadeite has spiritual and religious relationships historically. It is the stone of choice for spiritual purity. Stark white to a transparent silvery white has been discovered. Our discoveries are not cloudy very much like a fine grain linen, smooth and silky. The consistency and silky luster a high-grade uniform carving material. We call it Glacier white because it has a clarity and liquid aspect that makes it ‘ icy ‘ in appearance.
One stone we have discovered we fondly call “Mist in Snow” because of the coloration to the traditional “Moss in Snow”. It is unique to the combination of how our Mountain snow meets the Sea and produces a foggy mist. Good quality stone is becoming rare in this Oriental comparable. Our Oregon collection consists of slabs of about 2 pounds and a few boulders blocks so translucent one could cast shadows through them. Highlighted here is “Inception” a carving about ideas and where they come from by Artist and Prospector, Robert Lortscher. This two-cell formation in which green joins white in a symbolic union represents the binary, male female polarity of life. The white purity of the stone combines with the fertility of the green jadeite.
