Description
BethLaura Blue
Blue the rarest of all Jadeite colors has been found in Southwest Oregon. This discovery revealed several different values of blue to blue green. The lightest shade of blue is also transparent which is a feature of jade from this location. Compact fine grain texture and even distribution of color has been found in this material. Baby blue is a mix of white and blue together and forms a powder blue, we call “Bailey Blue”. It is highly translucent and consistent without any inclusions.
A medium blue green has also been discovered and tested. It is best described as reminiscent to Olmec blue as historically seen in Mayan artifacts. It is a beautiful shade of blue green like the ocean. While this material is not highly translucent it does shine to a canary finish.
Testing’s of new discoveries continue. Midnight blue is translucent and a concentrated dark shade.
